The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo-Swedish Version

Movie Review

Based on a best selling novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, will hold you until the last moments and on through the credits with it tumbling in your brain. You may not find this movie at your local Blockbuster, however this Swedish movie is worth finding and streaming for free. This movie has a strong female lead and a good understanding lead man. The movie is about a scorned reporter who is condemned to a short stay in prison, but before he can go a rich Russian company owner asks for his help in solving the forty year old murder of a family member. Everyone in his family is a suspect and the reporter will uncover family secrets no one would believe.

The second move continues with the same dynamic cast and alot of Lisbeth's secrets come to haunt her again. Her father comes back in to the picture and there is alot of background of why she is the way she is. Most of the story she is running from the police and her partner Mickael tries to save her. The ending is abrupt and leaves you dying for more.

The last of the Trilogy plays out as a trial with most of the meat coming from flash backs, as well as prevous scenes from one and two. Not quite as exciting as the frst two, however you will fall in love with the characters because they are made so well. So you have to watch them in order, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (1) The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest (2) and The Girl Who Plays With Fire (3).

I found these movies exciting and deep drama. As you may think the reporter is the main character, although Lisbeth, his eccentric partner takes the scene. Although I think the name mislead because there really wasn’t much about the tattoo or any deep tie it has in the film.

Rater hard R, for some nudity and sobering forced scenes. I was only able to find a copy with subtitles, this movie is worth a little light reading. The main characters are strong and make you feel for them from the beginning,he all the way till the credits roll on the third.

There actually was a fourth book written by author and his partner, however since his death, there has been a legal battle to decide who has the printing rights, his brother or his partner. I always hoped for the end to be happier and maybe one day we will see what the true ending held. Hope you watch this and enjoy.
